Steve Jobs. What he can teach you and I (whether you cared for him or not).

steve-jobs-156930_640Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart. – Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs has always been a name in the tech community that you have to be careful around whom you bring up. Despite his controversial actions with Microsoft and his overall “questionable” character, he still remains an interesting figure in the world of technology.

Having recently watched Jobs starring Ashton Kutcher and doing some follow up research, I was interested by the fact that he did not possess the “skill set” that I imagined the creator of the world renowned Apple Computer company would have. He was not an engineer,  and he did not have the extensive programming knowledge that you would imagine the “creator” of the first personal computer would possess.

Steve Jobs had what I found very interesting. He had vision. When his longtime best friend Steve Wozniak showed him the operating system that he had engineered being displayed on a monitor, Jobs saw what Wozniak did not. He recognized the power that Steve Wozniak’s invention would give to consumers.

Having discovered this fact, Jobs used his charisma, drive, and vision to launch Apple Computer into to the billion-dollar company that it has reached today.

How is it that a man can become such a success with such amazing, yet simple to grasp talents such as vision and drive?

Click Here to see the most inspiring video of Steve Jobs I found, in which he describes the mindset that could change your life.

It is such a short video, but he describes what I see as the philosophy that he took on in order to achieve the greatness that he did. Possibly using ideas from his meditation practices that he took part in….or just the LSD.
