Why, why, why is it always assumed that just because I’m an atheist, I must have some sort of “beef” with the all-mighty God? No, I do not. It is quite the opposite actually. Atheists proclaim to not believe in God, not because they think that God is mean and that he hurt their feelings, but because there is an overwhelmingly large amount of evidence to the contrary of his existence.
Many times the argument arises that I must believe in Him, otherwise why would I constantly argue against his existence. You don’t see me writing posts about how the Easter Bunny, Thor, Zeus, and Santa don’t exist do you? Well, as soon as schools start trying to smuggle the Easter Bunny into science classes as being a part of reality, you will definitely see the direction of this blog begin to change in a very strange and weird direction.
God is so often the target of criticism and debate not because his presence is being misinterpreted as bad, but instead because it is claimed that he is present at all. Let’s stop accusing all atheists of having an ulterior motive for not believing in God other than that we just don’t believe evidence has shown otherwise.
